A French couple stirred up a lot of discussion on the internet by sharing a video of their wedding and the moment when the party food was served: many McDonald’s delicacies. In the footage, the 25-year-old bride and 27-year-old groom announced the buffet that would be served to their 45 guests.
“Thank you very much, and now I’ll let you discover tonight’s meal,” the bride announces. “Come as you are,” she says, referring to one of the fast-food chain’s slogans. Then we see the food delivery person, carrying the unmistakable brown paper bags, being greeted with cheers and applause from the wedding guests.

The lovebirds ordered hundreds of sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and nuggets worth nearly €1,000, more than R$5,000. The large order required a special effort from the fast-food restaurant to ensure the production of over 300 sandwiches in a very short time.
To the French newspaper Le Parisien, the bride explained the couple’s unusual choice: “I was afraid we’d pay for something we don’t like; if you’re going to pay, it’s better to buy something you like.” She added, “We were a little worried about the reaction of certain aunts and uncles. They had some issues at first, but in the end, everyone ate.”
The post made by the groom surprised many people and received numerous comments; some internet users were horrified by the couple. “Honestly, I wouldn’t have tried it,” one observer admitted. “This is ridiculous.” “I would have been embarrassed in their place,” another commented.
But other people understood the couple’s choice for a more budget-friendly meal; “Well, people who have the wedding they want without going into debt to show off. Be happy!” one person declared. “I’d rather have McDonald’s at my wedding than be in debt for 25 years because of the party,” another agreed.
