A woman from New York found a way to make her ex-boyfriend jealous with the help of artificial intelligence; she creates images of different men who appear with her in her social media photos.

“My ex moved on, so I had to find a new boyfriend quickly,” declared Madeline Salazar, 29, in the overlay text of the clip that quickly went viral, reaching over 55 million views on TikTok. In the video, Salazar demonstrates how she modifies a photo of herself sitting alone on the subway by adding the image of a guy who appears to be sleeping on her shoulder.

To achieve this, she simply types “man resting head on shoulder” into her Adobe program, and voila, the super-realistic figure appears, using it as a headrest. She does the same to generate other suitors, such as a man holding her hand while taking her for a stroll on a terrace and another who rests his hand on her leg while they have coffee.

Speaking to Kennedy News and Media, Salazar explained that although the clip is quick, it took a while to create: “The three clips in the video took about two and a half hours,” she said. “Anything involving humans is very difficult.”

Her post sparked a lot of controversy, and even the official Photoshop account joined the conversation, writing, “This is what we call dedication.” However, many people did not like it at all, and Salazar was called “sad” and “toxic” for apparently dedicating so much time to provoke ex-boyfriends. Nevertheless, she claims that her post was just a joke, and she didn’t use the simulator to get back at an ex. “This was more meant to be seen as a joke, but not everyone gets my humor,” lamented Salazar. To her, people attacking her over the video illustrate how “you really can’t believe anything you see online.”
