In the video, the woman presents a series of tips for “staying safe in hotels.” She begins by saying that she starts her vacation by placing the “do not disturb” sign on the outside and then locking the room door. She then uses a tissue to cover the peephole and places a small towel in the door’s keyhole to seal it.

As if that weren’t enough, she takes the ironing board and places it behind the door, and also rolls up a bath towel to place behind the doorknob to prevent intruders. Think that’s all? For “extra security,” a hanger is added to the mix, connecting it to the door handle and the lock.

Her post generated many comments; some internet users praised her elaborate security routine, while others found it overly cautious. “I carry two portable locks and a mini-camera connected to my phone when I’m out,” wrote one. “And now, imagine trying to get out of that in the dark, in the middle of a fire in the middle of the night,” another questioned.
