Anna Paul, a TikTok star from Australia, shared a tip for people afraid of flying in a video that has already amassed over 38 million views.

In the clip, Anna explains that a pilot shared the analogy of an airplane flying through the air as if it were an object suspended in jelly.

There is pressure on all sides, so even if the jelly is shaken and the object shakes along with it, the pressure suspends the object.

In other words, an airplane will not suddenly fall from the sky due to turbulence, just as an object will not fall from the middle of the jelly.

The jelly analogy is also used by experts in aerophobia. Therapist Les Posen specializes in flight phobias and shows his clients a model airplane suspended in raspberry jelly to illustrate that turbulence will not cause an airplane to fall from the sky.

He even suggests that clients smell the jelly and then advises them to eat a raspberry candy or drink raspberry juice on the plane to remember the analogy, using their senses to calm their nerves.

In summary, turbulence seems much scarier than it really is. A rocking plane will not fall from the sky; modern aircraft can withstand a significant amount of movement in the air, and pilots are highly trained to handle turbulence.
