The video shared by an assistant principal of a school in Florida shows a group of students watching one of them dance; the eighth-grade student is making his moves towards one of the teachers and then challenges her to dance as well.
To the surprise of the kids, teacher Yolanda Turner accepts the challenge and begins to showcase her dance talent. The students go wild watching their teacher join in the fun and enjoy herself with them.
“The music was playing, all the kids were excited,” Turner told Fox 13 news. “So it was like, let’s do a dance challenge. I’m in. I’m getting into the dance.” “I really try to emphasize to the kids to be authentic and never be afraid to express who they are, no matter who’s watching,” she said.
Turner teaches, as a good teacher does, that respect isn’t earned with a stern face; teachers who care and engage with their students are the ones who achieve the best results and bring out the best in their pupils.
