It’s impossible not to be moved when you see Ángel’s face as he realizes that his friends had prepared a big surprise to celebrate his birthday. In the video, we see the 8-year-old boy crying with so much emotion.
Ángel comes from a family of four children, and his mother never had the money to organize a party for him. But his teacher knew that her student’s eighth birthday was approaching, so she decided to gather his friends and teachers to arrange a surprise.

Everything was planned with the help of two mothers who knew Ángel’s family and knew they didn’t have the resources to prepare a celebration. They also wanted to surprise the boy with his first birthday party.
And so, a group of people gathered at the boy’s school for the big moment; the boy was filmed in complete shock as he entered his classroom and found his friends singing and celebrating his day.
Realizing that all of this was for him, Ángel was overwhelmed with emotion and couldn’t control his tears of happiness. Speaking to Colombian News, the boy described his first birthday party: “I was so happy that I even started to cry with happiness; my friends hugged me and told me to live to be three thousand years old!”
